Rio City Hall, through Comlurb, is launching this Sunday (11/10) a new fleet and equipment, in addition to the installation of 1.500 metal boxes, to optimize collection and ensure greater quality and efficiency of services in the regions of Campo Grande, Santa Cruz and Guaratiba, West Zone of the city.

Rio City Hall delivers more than 2 million MEAL KITS, including cards and basic food baskets, to students

The Municipal Department of Education is recharging the KIT MERENDA cards of 641 students in the Municipal Education Network, following the partnership with the Public Defender's Office. The credit in the amount of R$54,25 will be available to each of the parents and guardians of the students who will be able to purchase food items starting this Saturday, October 10, 10. In total, since the beginning of the new coronavirus pandemic, the SME has distributed more than 2020 million KITS MERENDA, including basic food baskets and cards, to the families of students in the Municipal Education Network. In other words, so far, during the pandemic, the SME has delivered more than 2 million kilos of food in this process. This is the largest national program for delivering food to students in a municipal education network in the country.

City Hall carries out inspection at Feira do Lavradio this Saturday, 10/10

The Municipal Department of Development, Employment and Innovation (SMDEI) inspected the Lavradio Fair in the city center this Saturday, October 10. Teams from the Fair Coordination Department checked whether exhibitors were complying with the measures adopted during the Covid-10 pandemic, such as the use of masks and alcohol gel. No problems were identified during the inspection.

Students from SME's Virtual Orchestra launch Toy Story-themed video in celebration of Children's Day

The Municipal Department of Education is paying a creative tribute to children this Monday, October 12, in celebration of Children's Day. The Virtual Orchestra, part of the SME's Orchestra in Schools Program, is releasing on its official channels (see the list below) a music video for the song “Amigo, Estou Aqui” (translation of You've Got a Friend in Me) performed by student musicians from the Rivadávia Corrêa Flute Orchestra, conducted by teacher Alessandra Alexandroff Netto. The song, which is the theme of the film Toy Story (1995), was written by Randy Newman and originally arranged by Doug Clyde. The lyrics talk about the value of friendship, which is very important to value in these times of pandemic.

Municipal Health Department updates number of beds for Covid-19 and occupancy rate in the capital's SUS network

The Municipal Health Department reports that the municipal network is currently carrying out the absolute majority of Covid-19 care, as state and private hospitals have closed beds dedicated to treating the disease.

It is also important to highlight that the City of Rio is the only one that maintains a field hospital – the one at Riocentro – in operation, since units from other spheres did not even reach full operation – and that, recently, private partnerships with the government of the State of Rio demobilized field hospitals.

Comlurb promoted more special cleaning operations in communities

Comlurb carried out more special sanitation operations this Saturday (10/10) in several communities in the city. The initiative, which began in Rocinha on 9/4 and aims to reduce the risk of contamination by the new coronavirus, has already been taken to all 633 communities in the city. The cleaning is done with reused water and neutral detergent, and hypochlorite in the sprayers.
