The course will qualify professionals who can work in Rio's tourism sector - Marcelo Piu / Rio City Hall

The Rio de Janeiro School of Tourism is accepting applications for courses to train and qualify professionals in different segments of the sector. Classes are free, and students receive financial assistance for food and transportation. Students must be over 18 years old and live in the city of Rio de Janeiro.

There are 445 places in 10 courses: Ecotourism, Basic Sign Language 1, Basic English 1, Basic English 2, Event Organization Techniques, Cultural Tourism, Hotel Reception – operation and procedures, Chambermaid in accommodation facilities, Preparation of Cultural Itineraries and Basic Spanish.

The initiative is a partnership between the Municipal Department of Tourism and Senac RJ. Classes are scheduled to take place in October and November at six Senac locations: Barra da Tijuca, Campo Grande, Madureira, Riachuelo, Copacabana and Botafogo.

In total, the Rio de Janeiro School of Tourism has opened 855 vacancies in 2024. For 2025, another 945 are planned. Registrations can be made on the SMTUR-Rio website: https://turismo.prefeitura.rio/escolacariocadeturismo/
