Escola Carioca de Turismo trains 299 more students in free courses

The Rio de Janeiro School of Tourism is training 299 more students. They will receive their certificates of completion this Wednesday (26/06) at the Teatro de Câmara da Cidade das Artes Bibi Ferreira, in Barra da Tijuca. In total, the project has trained 1.418 people in ten free courses.
An initiative of a partnership between the Municipal Department of Tourism and Senac, the Escola Carioca de Turismo was created in 2022. The objective is to train professionals in the areas with the greatest shortage of labor in the sector, with courses taught in Botafogo, Campo Grande, Copacabana, Madureira, Riachuelo and Barra da Tijuca.
Students received transportation and meal vouchers as a form of incentive. The courses completed were the following: Food & Beverage: Protocols and Good Practices; Basic Spanish Applied to Tourist Services; Etiquette, Ceremonies and Protocols; Local Tourist Information; Basic English; Basic Sign Language; Hotel Reception: Operation and Procedures; Event Organization Techniques; Waiter Service Techniques with Emphasis on Sales; and Cultural Tourism.
Among the graduates, 71,5% are women, and the average age is 36. Most attended units in the West Zone.
