Junkyard is closed in Engenho de Dentro by Seop agents

The Public Order Department carried out another inspection operation on Thursday (09/03) at a scrapyard, this time in the Engenho de Dentro neighborhood, in the city's North Zone, and seized approximately 20 kilos of iron and copper without origin. The establishment was closed and fined for lack of camera monitoring, in the amount of R$1.169,30. The agents also seized two advertising signs.

 

– Another scrapyard has been inspected, and once again our team found copper without origin. The owners of these establishments need to stop committing these irregularities. Unfortunately, we know that in most cases, scrapyards are part of a cycle of theft and robbery of wires and copper. The Seop intelligence team will continue investigating to identify these clandestine scrapyards and punish those who insist on continuing in the same error – emphasizes Brenno Carnevale, Secretary of Public Order.

 

Iron and copper without origin will be discarded by Comlurb. Agents from the Subsecretariat of Operations of the Public Order Secretariat, the Licensing and Inspection Coordination, the Municipal Guard, RioLuz, Comlurb and the Military Police participated in the operation.
