Municipal Guard reinforces nighttime patrols in Arpoador during the summer.

The Rio Municipal Guard (GM-Rio) launched a special operation on Tuesday night (December 23rd) to reinforce preventive patrolling on Arpoador Beach and Rock during the night. The action is part of Operation Summer and aims to increase the safety and well-being of visitors.

The reinforcement includes the support of two operational tents and a force of 30 municipal guards, who will operate daily from 19 pm to 5 am, at Pedra do Arpoador and its surroundings.

A traditional meeting point in the city, Arpoador is known for its nighttime activities, such as applause at sunset, and is now also seeing a greater presence of public authorities to monitor the increased circulation of people, including the practice of nighttime swimming.
