Municipal guards from the 1st Inspectorate (Centro) responded to two incidents in downtown Rio on Monday (24/03). In one of the cases, the teams arrested a 13-year-old teenager after he stole a gold necklace from a 21-year-old student in Cinelândia. The victim reported that the teenager was accompanied by a group, and while some of them managed to escape with the necklace, the minor was detained. After the incident was registered at the 5th Police Precinct (Avenida Gomes Freire), the teenager was taken to the Child and Adolescent Protection Department (DPCA).
In another incident, a homeless man was caught ripping an iron bar off the fence surrounding the Passeio Público square. During the approach, he tried to attack the Municipal Guard agents, but was restrained and detained. The case was registered at the 5th Police Precinct (Avenida Gomes Freire), where he was taken.
