The Special Operations Group (GOE) of the Rio Municipal Guard (GM-Rio) took 15 parking attendants to the police station after they were caught operating this Sunday (April 19th) in the vicinity of the Glória Fair, in the South Zone. The operation also resulted in the seizure of 17 vests, three cones, and 142 traffic tickets.
GM-Rio has been intensifying preventive actions for traffic management and urban security throughout the entire length of the fair, from Rua Teixeira de Freitas to Praça do Russel, and also on Av. Rio Branco, since March 30th. The fair has been held for over a century and attracts many people, but there were also complaints about the presence of informal parking attendants in the area, which motivated the special action by GM-Rio.
This Sunday, guards from the Special Operations Groups (GOE) and Motorcycle Guards (GGM), from the Central South Regional Coordination (CRCS) and the Technical Traffic Sub-Directorate (Subtran) participated in the operation.
