Municipal guards from the Canine Operations Group (GOC) caught an 18-year-old man red-handed on Saturday (10/05), suspected of stealing rings in the area around the Maracanã Stadium, during the operation for the match between Flamengo and Bahia. On the same day, in Botafogo, assistance after a traffic accident turned into a man being taken to the police station for drunk driving, carried out by guards from the Regional Coordination of the Center and South Zone.

In the case of the theft in the vicinity of the Maracanã stadium, the guards were approached by a citizen who reported having been approached and robbed of his car by a man in the vicinity. The victim provided the suspect's characteristics and the direction in which he fled. The guards were able to identify him and made the arrest. It was necessary to use an electroshock pistol to restrain the suspect. Four wedding rings were found with him. The suspect confessed to having stopped vehicles in the area with the help of an accomplice who fled. The case was registered at the 18th Police Precinct (Praça da Bandeira).

The incident of drunk driving occurred on Rua Bambina, in Botafogo, in the morning. The guards were called by employees of a supermarket to help a motorcyclist who had fallen off his motorcycle. He was accompanied by a woman who fled. When the guards arrived to provide assistance, they ended up detecting signs of drunkenness. The man, aged 47, confessed that he had consumed alcohol and also said that he did not have a driver's license and that the motorcycle belonged to his boss. He was arrested and, after the drunkenness was confirmed at the IML, the case was registered at the 12th DP (Botafogo). The motorcycle was seized and taken to the depot.
