The mayor of Rio, Eduardo Cavaliere, delivered this Saturday (April 11th) two important urbanization projects of the Bairro Maravilha program, from the Municipal Secretariat of Infrastructure, in the Pavuna neighborhood, North Zone of the city. The interventions included the Havaí and Falcão housing complexes, bringing complete urban infrastructure, drainage and new spaces for community interaction for the residents of the region.

"It's projects like Bairro Maravilha that change the lives of people all over the city," Cavaliere stated.

In the Conjunto Havaí neighborhood, the investment totaled R$ 5,8 million, and the works benefited eight streets. The services included 1,3 meters of drainage network, 682 meters of water supply network, and 2,5 meters of sewage network, improving basic sanitation and reducing flooding. The urbanization also included 6,1 square meters of paving and 4,7 square meters of sidewalks, providing greater accessibility and better circulation conditions for pedestrians and vehicles.

The multi-sports court in the area has been revitalized, as has the square, which now has a children's playground with new fencing, renovated flooring, outdoor gym equipment, and a bandstand with game tables – a leisure space for residents of all ages. The five-a-side football field is being upgraded, with new turf, line markings, new goalposts, and fencing. Completion is scheduled for the end of this month.

In the Conjunto Falcão neighborhood, the investment totaled R$ 4,4 million, with works carried out in six public spaces. The services included 1,6 meters of water supply network, 1,5 meters of sewage network, and 865 meters of drainage, in addition to 4,3 square meters of paving and 4,1 square meters of sidewalks.

The complex's plaza was also renovated, with areas for children, exercise equipment, game tables, improved flooring, and fencing. Parking bays were installed around it to organize the flow of vehicles. The soccer field was completely upgraded, with new turf, a drainage system, field markings, new goalposts, and fencing.

Since 2021, more than 70 communities have benefited from the Bairro Maravilha program.

The Bairro Maravilha program aims to promote urbanization and revitalize areas most in need of intervention. By investing in infrastructure, the initiative transforms the physical space and directly impacts the population's quality of life, providing greater dignity, mobility, and urban integration. Resumed in 2021, the program has already completed more than 70 projects in the North and West zones of the city.
