Rio City Hall teams went into action on Tuesday night (29/12) to stop, in conjunction with the Fire Department and the Military Police, a party that was causing crowds on Avenida Niemeyer, in the South Zone. As soon as they became aware of the event at Faro Beach Clube, agents from the Municipal Guard, the Municipal Department of Public Order (Seop) and the Health Surveillance Institute (Ivisa) went to the location. The establishment was fined, and the party was suspended.

Ivisa issued three infractions – two very serious (one for crowding and another for failure to wear masks), each worth approximately R$15. The third was for lack of a health license.

The event held there on Tuesday was not authorized by Ivisa. The person responsible for the party, who had already been summoned to appear at Ivisa headquarters on Monday (28/01), will be summoned to appear again on Wednesday (30/01). Club Faro had already been notified by Ivisa in November, when it also held an event without authorization.

The Municipal Finance Department reports that the establishment has a license for a bar, restaurant and club, but is not authorized to hold events of this type. In addition to being fined, the establishment may be closed and have its license revoked.
