RioLuz delivers new lighting to São Roque Square in Paquetá.

RioLuz, in partnership with the Subprefecture of the Islands and the Local Executive Management (GEL), delivered the new lighting for Praça São Roque, in Paquetá, in time for the festivities in honor of the island's patron saint. The program began this Friday (14) and continues until Sunday (16), bringing together one of the most traditional religious and cultural celebrations in Paquetá.

The project included the installation of 15 LED lighting points, providing greater safety and comfort for residents and visitors during the festivities. Located in the center of Paquetá, São Roque Square is one of the island's main public spaces and hosts part of the patron saint's festival program, which includes religious celebrations, cultural performances, music, and activities that preserve a centuries-old tradition and boost the local economy.

According to Rodolpho Maldonado, president of RioLuz, the delivery reinforces the company's commitment to valuing public spaces and the culture of Rio de Janeiro.

— Delivering this new lighting during the São Roque festivities has a special meaning and contributes to preserving a tradition that is part of the identity of Paquetá and the city of Rio de Janeiro. Investing in public lighting is also investing in culture, tourism, and the quality of life of the population.

This initiative helps to value local tradition and enhance one of the most important spaces on the island during the São Roque festivities.

Known for its car-free streets, historical heritage, and natural landscapes, Paquetá is one of Rio de Janeiro's most traditional tourist destinations. This project is part of RioLuz's initiative to revitalize public spaces and areas of historical and cultural interest using LED technology.
