See below how to register in the Jaé system:
>>> General public
You can download the app from your mobile phone's online store, follow the registration instructions and start using Jaé virtually on your mobile phone. When you register, you can request a physical Visa card for free and pick it up at one of the service stores. Another option is to pay a fee of R$7,95 and have the card delivered to your home.
You can also purchase the card at the Self-Service Machines located at BRT stations and terminals, and get a separate card, which is a green card. This card cannot be associated with your account in the app.
>>> Transportation Voucher
Companies in Rio de Janeiro must register their employees with Jaé to ensure they can obtain transportation vouchers. The process of hiring a transportation voucher is online, fast, free and can be done via the link https://www.jae.com.br/empresas
This new system eliminates the need to unlink the previous buyer or validate top-ups. As soon as the company makes the credit available, employees can access it immediately, without complications.
Additionally, Jaé allows users to accumulate transport voucher credits from different employers in a single registration or card.
Another advantage is that, by registering on the Jaé app, even if the user loses their card, they can continue using the transport voucher via QR Code until a new card is delivered.
>>> Elderly
Seniors must register on the Jaé app on their cell phone. Another option is to schedule an appointment through the website (https://jae.com.br/agendamento/) in one of the stores in Jaé. Senior citizens who request their free physical card will receive it at their home, free of charge.
>>> PWDs and chronic patients undergoing treatment
Jaé free cards for people with disabilities and chronic illnesses undergoing treatment, registered by October 2024, will be delivered to the Family Clinic to which the person is linked. People with disabilities who already have a Riocard free card and are not registered with Family Clinics in the city of Rio de Janeiro will receive their Jaé free cards at the Integrated Center for Care for People with Disabilities (CIAD).
The citizen can consult at the address https://jae.com.br/consulta-cartao to find out if you are eligible to receive the benefit. If you are not, you will need to go to the Family Clinic so that your CPF is included in the system.
Until they receive the free Jaé card, people with disabilities and chronic illnesses undergoing treatment must continue using their current Riocard card as normal.
For those who received the benefit from November 2024 onwards, the Family Clinics will register the beneficiary's CPF in Jaé so that the person can request the card through the app. Anyone who has any difficulty accessing the app should schedule an appointment for in-person service. It is possible to use the app, via QR code, for immediate use of the benefit.
>>> Students of the Municipal Network
Students in the Municipal Public Education Network will receive free cards directly at schools.
>>> Students of the State Network (schools that operate in the city of Rio de Janeiro)
Students who used the free benefit will be able to collect the Jaé Gratuidade directly from their current school.
>>> University Students/Federal Network Students
University students and students in the federal network who are entitled to the benefit must make the request via the application.
At the end of last year, institutions sent information to Jaé about students who are entitled to the benefit. Students only need to enter their CPF in the application, and they will be identified as beneficiaries and will be entitled to the free benefit. If their CPF is not registered, the student must request that their registration be included with the institution.
