The Rio City Hall, through the Municipal Department of Public Order (SEOP), recorded 461 inspections of street vendors in one week during a joint operation with the Municipal Department of Finance (SMF) to regulate the Bangu boardwalk and its surroundings, in the city's West Zone. Of these, 201 did not have authorization and were instructed to vacate the public space, freeing the sidewalk for pedestrians and avoiding crowds. The operation, which continues this Wednesday, 11/11, also involves monitoring traffic and urban cleaning.

Also as a result of the actions of the special staff, employed at the location since last Wednesday, 04/11 (except Sunday), a notification was issued and 14 citations were issued to street vendors for various irregularities, such as providing their licenses to third parties and carrying excess merchandise. On Thursday, 5/11, an irregular vendor had his merchandise seized after failing to comply with removal instructions. 136 items were seized from him, including headphones, remote controls, chargers, adapters and cables.

In traffic, 17 vehicles were fined, nine of which were complementary passenger transport vehicles (vans and kombis). Four cars were also removed for illegal parking, and around 1,2 tons of solid waste were collected.

With planning and integration from the Subsecretariat of Operations (Subop) of Seop, the task force brings together personnel from the Municipal Guard and the Parking and Towing Inspection (Cfer) and Special Complementary Transport (CETC) coordinators, bodies linked to the department itself; from the Urban Control (CCU) and Licensing and Inspection (CLF) coordinators, linked to SMF; and from Comlurb.
