Seop approaches and tows vehicle with excessive load of recyclables in the Rebouças Tunnel.

The vehicle, a black Saveiro pickup truck, was fined and towed to the municipal impound lot - Press Release Agents from the Municipal Secretariat of Public Order (Seop) approached a vehicle this Tuesday morning (March 3rd) that was illegally transporting a load of recyclables in its truck bed. The car was stopped by agents inside the first gallery of the Rebouças Tunnel, heading towards the North Zone, and was brought to a stop in the recess between the two galleries. The approach was carried out after monitoring by the Parking and Towing Enforcement Management teams and the municipal department's teams at the workstation located in the Operations and Resilience Center (COR-Rio). The vehicle, a black Saveiro, was fined and towed to the municipal impound lot.
The Seop operation began around 5:30 am. The driver presented his driver's license and the car's registration was up to date, however, in addition to the excessive load, the vehicle was also in very poor condition.
– It's an increasingly common, yet irregular, action by citizens. We've been registering numerous vehicles transporting large quantities of recyclable materials or carrying out veritable removals with refrigerators, stoves, mattresses, etc. The Public Order Secretariat (Seop) will be increasingly present in specific actions to curb this type of practice – highlighted the Secretary of Public Order, Marcus Belchior.
