Properties with outstanding IPTU debts will be auctioned starting Tuesday

In total, five properties located in Leblon, Lagoa, Barra da Tijuca and Copacabana will be auctioned on November 26, 27 and 28 and December 2. They were seized as collateral for payment of IPTU debts. The real estate units selected and indicated by the Rio de Janeiro City Attorney's Office (PGM) to participate in the procedure have minimum and maximum estimated values ​​for sale of R$1,3 million and R$4,7 million, respectively. These values ​​may be reduced by half in the event of a second auction.

The properties are located in prime areas of the city, such as Av. Atlântica, Av. Afrânio de Melo Franco and Av. Lúcio Costa, among other locations. Two other units located in Barra and downtown Rio have also been indicated and are expected to be auctioned by the courts later this year.

The selection of properties by PGM considers the approximately 16 thousand real estate units that make up the Available Properties for Auction platform, launched this November by the institution. The website can be accessed through e-mail and is also available on the Attorney General's website and on the Carioca Digital Portal.

New property list

PGM is already working on the new list of properties to be put up for auction. The real estate units are being selected based on the expressions of interest from potential buyers in this platform . Properties that receive the highest number of requests, which can be registered on the website using the “I’m interested” option, may be included in the new list and sent to auction this November.
