Rio Heritage of Humanity Institute opens registration for Olhos de Ver Photography Competition

Rio seen from above - Marcos de Paula / Rio City Hall The Olhos de Ver Photography Contest, promoted by the Rio World Heritage Institute, is accepting entries starting this Friday (30/6), and the theme of this edition is Rio World Heritage. Anyone can participate by sending unpublished images that reveal the entirety or a detail of landscapes, buildings, public spaces, everyday scenes or urban furniture.
The photos must be taken in the area covered by the city's three World Heritage sites. They are: Rio de Janeiro – Paisagens Cariocas entre a Montanha e o Mar (Rio de Janeiro Landscapes between the Mountains and the Sea), Cais do Valongo archaeological site and Burle Marx site. The best images will be selected and will be included in a digital edition of postcards for the Olhos de Ver (Eyes to See) project.
Interested parties have until October 1st to register for the competition free of charge. Each participant will compete with up to ten photographs, in color or black and white. The images can be submitted in printed or digital formats (jpg). Any editing is prohibited and drastic changes, such as removing or inserting elements or using special effects, will not be permitted.
The photographs will be analyzed by a judging committee composed of IRPH technicians and members of civil society, who will choose the 60 best images, in no particular order. For further information on sending images, please consult the regulations at institute website.
