City Hall carries out “Blitz of Life” in the Jacarepaguá region

The Rio City Hall, through the Municipal Department of Public Order (Seop), is carrying out the “Blitz da Vida” operation in Taquara, in the West Zone, this Tuesday, August 25th. This is the second consecutive day of actions in the region. Yesterday, the task force was in Freguesia, where it recorded 08 inspections in businesses, five services to the homeless population, and two removals of vehicles due to illegal parking. Started a month ago, the project combines urban planning and other preventive measures to combat the Covid-43 pandemic, such as the distribution of masks in public spaces prone to crowds during the reopening. In addition to the “Blitz”, Seop is taking part in a planning action in the Penha neighborhood, in the North Zone, this Tuesday.

Parish Balance – Among the inspections in the commerce of the Freguesia, this Monday (day 24), 18 were in establishments, being 10 sanitary inspections, with five fines for lack of supplies (such as alcohol gel) and license. The other 25 were among street vendors: in addition to one notified, 10 street vendors did not have authorization and were instructed to vacate the public space. The agents went through Avenida Geremário Dantas (from Estrada do Capenha), stretches of the roads of Jacarepaguá, Gabinal and dos Três Rios, Passarela de Jacarepaguá and Ladeira da Freguesia.

General assessment of the “Blitz” – In one month, from July 21 to August 07, the “Blitz” has already resulted in 21 inspections and guidance to commercial establishments (08) and street vendors (1.250), and 587 approaches to homeless people, with 663 shelters. The task force also counted 596 traffic tickets for various irregularities, with 171 vehicles towed for illegal parking; and the removal of more than 346 tons of solid waste. The survey corresponds to the work in seven neighborhoods: Centro, Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon, Campo Grande, Santa Cruz and Tijuca.
