Rio de Janeiro City Hall completes revitalization of the Grota Shopping Center in the Complexo do Alemão.

The Rio de Janeiro City Hall has completed the revitalization of the Grota Commercial Center, located at Estrada do Itararé, nº 341, in the Complexo do Alemão. The space, which houses 20 shops run by local entrepreneurs, underwent extensive renovations that provide better working conditions for merchants and greater comfort and safety for visitors. The investment totaled R$352,3, executed by the Municipal Urbanization Company (Rio-Urbe), linked to the Municipal Infrastructure Secretariat (SMI).

"The City Hall is making an effort to govern for those who need it most. We have a special focus on the large complexes. With the accounts in order, the municipality can invest in helping the merchants of Alemão with the revitalization of this commercial center," said Deputy Mayor Eduardo Cavaliere.

The intervention included a complete renovation and painting of the entrance gate, the installation of a new stainless steel sign on the facade, and the painting of the roller shutter doors of the 20 shops, in addition to the general painting of the Shopping Center's facade. The ceiling slab was waterproofed, ensuring protection against leaks, and all the lighting in the space, including light fixtures and service lighting, was replaced. The mezzanine floor was painted, while the sidewalk and ground floor received concrete paving, increasing the safety and comfort of customers and merchants. The men's, women's, and accessible restrooms underwent complete renovation, and a ramp with handrails was installed to ensure accessibility. Furthermore, a drainage channel was installed, and a landscaped planter was added, making the environment more pleasant.

– The City Hall made a significant investment in the renovation of this space, which will benefit merchants, residents, and contribute to the appreciation of the entire region. It is essential that everyone helps preserve this environment, which generates opportunities and strengthens community life. I am proud to work on implementing public policies that make a difference in the lives of those who need it most – highlighted the sub-mayor of the Large Complexes, Marlí Peçanha.

With the completion of the works, the Grota Shopping Center will once again be a space for community interaction, work, and opportunities, reaffirming the Rio de Janeiro City Hall's commitment to improving infrastructure in communities and supporting small entrepreneurs.
