The City of Arts will host Rio2C, one of the largest events dedicated to creativity in Latin America - Fabio Motta/City Hall of Rio

Starting this Tuesday (May 27), Rio will host one of the largest events dedicated to creativity in Latin America: Rio5C, which will take place at Cidade das Artes until June 2, with guests representing some of the largest industries and economic powers in the world. In this edition, RioFilme, an agency linked to the Municipal Department of Culture, is bringing something new to film technology enthusiasts: the RioFilme Stand, held in partnership with Quanta. The stand will present the most modern resources currently used in the audiovisual world. The public will be able to watch presentations on virtual production, motion capture, camera tracking and previews. The film “O Auto da Compadecida 1”, a co-production of RioFilme through the Cash Rebate public notice, will be used as an example to illustrate the practical use of these tools, some of which are used in major Hollywood productions.

One of the highlights of the program is the panel “The future of Brazilian audiovisual: Inclusion, sustainability and economic development”, which will be held on Thursday (29/5) in the Screening Room, and will be led by Leonardo Edde, CEO of RioFilme. The debate will feature the CEO of Ancine, Alex Braga, and the executive secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Marcio Tavares. The meeting will address one of the most anticipated topics for the audiovisual sector in Rio de Janeiro at the moment: the announcement of the RioFilme Development Program for 2025, which has investments of R$ 100 million, agreed upon in the regional agreement carried out in partnership between the City of Rio and the Federal Government (Ancine Audiovisual Sector Fund). The panel will announce the opening of the Public Consultation of the Notices, starting on Monday (2/6), and the investment lines for 2025.

The debate on the agenda will continue in the panel “Meeting with RioFilme – Audiovisual Promotion Program 2025”, in which RioFilme's Investment Director, Maurício Hirata, will talk to Fabiana Trindade, representative of Ancine's Financing Secretariat, also on Thursday, starting at 14:30 pm.

RioFilme's schedule at Rio2C also includes signing agreements and partnerships with national entities, such as the Cooperation Agreement that will be signed on Wednesday (28/5) between the company and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Salvador. The partnership aims to develop joint institutional cooperation actions aimed at strengthening the audiovisual sector in Rio and the capital of Bahia. Rio will also sign a Cooperation Agreement with the city of Niterói, uniting and adding successful experiences from both cities to promote audiovisual.

Another partnership that should be formalized at Rio2C is the launch of the Film Friendly Seal. The initiative involves RioFilme and VisitRio, an entity that represents the Rio tourism trade. The seal will endorse establishments such as hotels and restaurants, partners in actions to support and attract filming to the city of Rio, strengthening the city's image as an international film destination.

Developed in partnership between the Rio Film Commission and VisitRio, the seal consolidates a series of actions already carried out, which aim to support film crews who choose the city of Rio as a location. A policy that has worked at national and international levels: every year Rio surpasses its record for the number of filming days.

The RioFilme room and stand will be open from May 28th to 30th and are open to all those who are accredited at Rio2C.
