- COR expansion works reach 50% of the target set by the Luz Maravilha program
COR's expansion - Disclosure / Rio City Hall The expansion and modernization work at the Rio Operations Center (COR) has reached 50% of the target set by the Rio City Hall, which expects to deliver the new 1.582m², three-story building in Cidade Nova, central Rio, in December. The R$38 million interventions are being funded 100% by the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for public lighting and are progressing with all equipment already in the purchase process.
The new building will house an extension of the operations center's control room and will allow for the expansion of the existing screen to 102 square meters, in addition to the installation of operational benches and monitors and a data center capable of processing a high volume of data to assist in urban monitoring of the city. This entire structure will allow access to ten thousand new surveillance cameras, four thousand of which will have facial recognition, three thousand traffic light connection points for controlling traffic, waste, rain, flooding, among other tasks, in addition to five thousand Wi-Fi points that will allow 200 Rio residents to connect to each network. The investment in high technology will transform Rio into the smartest city in the country.
The project is one of the results of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for public lighting coordinated by Rioluz in consortium with the company Smartluz through the Luz Maravilha program.
