RioLuz has completed the modernization of the lighting system at the Armando Gonzaga Theater in Marechal Hermes, in partnership with the Municipal Department of Culture. The initiative is part of the city's public and cultural space revitalization program.

19 projectors, 15 lights and two new fiber optic poles were installed, increasing visibility and safety in the surrounding area, as well as enhancing the theater's architecture at night.

"Lighting plays a fundamental role in enhancing the city's public and cultural spaces. In the case of the Armando Gonzaga Theater, in addition to improving visibility and safety, the new project highlights its architectural beauty and reinforces the importance of bringing quality infrastructure to the North Zone as well," said Rafael Thompson, president of RioLuz.

"The Amando Gonzaga Theater is a jewel of modern Brazilian architecture, designed by Affonso Eduardo Reidy, collaborator and author of works such as the Capanema Palace and the Museum of Modern Art, with landscaping by Burle Max. The Municipal Department of Culture is committed to working to rescue and enhance spaces like the Armando Gonzaga Theater," explains Secretary Lucas Padilha.

The new lighting helps enhance the cultural heritage of the North Zone, providing greater comfort and attractiveness to spaces dedicated to art and social interaction. The initiative is part of a series of interventions by the City of Rio, through RioLuz, aimed at improving infrastructure and stimulating cultural life in Rio's neighborhoods.
