The Dr. Eithel Pinheiro de Oliveira Lima Municipal Health Center was reopened this Wednesday (04/05) in Senador Camará, West Zone of Rio de Janeiro. Renovations were carried out in the offices, facade, reception and waiting room, in addition to replacing furniture and equipment. The unit's garden and the Academia Carioca space were also revitalized to bring more comfort to users and SUS workers.

This unit is an important health care facility in the region and has around 15 registered users, covering 82% of the region's residents. The Eithel Pinheiro CMS has 14 renovated offices and four family health teams, as well as a dental office and an oral health team.

With the revitalization, it will be possible to offer better working conditions to health professionals, increase the number of registered patients, strengthen the monitoring of pregnant women during prenatal care, increase vaccination coverage for children and monitor users with chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes. The unit also offers rapid testing for HIV, syphilis and hepatitis, pregnancy testing, dispensing of medications at the pharmacy, in addition to many other services that make up the Primary Care offerings.

The reopening of the Eithel Pinheiro CMS is yet another symbol of the resumption and strengthening of Primary Care in the city, which accounts for over 80% of the care needs of Rio residents. This is yet another unit of AP 5.1 (Bangu and Realengo region). In April of this year, the Olímpia Esteves Family Clinic, in Padre Miguel, had also been returned to the population after being renovated.

The municipal secretary of Health, Rodrigo Prado, and the deputy secretary of Primary Care, Ana Luiza Caldas, participated in the inauguration with health professionals and residents of the region.
