Subway stations will host vaccination points this Monday.

The Municipal Health Department (SMS), in partnership with MetrôRio, will hold a special vaccination campaign this Monday (December 15th) against the JN.1 variant of Covid-19, influenza, MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), yellow fever, and tetanus, from 9 am to 4 pm at Botafogo station, and from 9 am to 3:30 pm at Carioca/Centro station. The vaccination stations will be set up outside the controlled area, so there is no need to go through the turnstiles.

The mobilization promoted by the SMS aims to expand access to vaccination and bring immunizations to high-traffic areas, as well as increase protection for the population of Rio de Janeiro against diseases, especially during this period of intense flow of people due to the end-of-year festivities.

Everyone from six months of age can receive the flu vaccine. Vaccination against measles and yellow fever during the seasons is aimed at adults up to 59 years old who have never received either or both of these vaccines, according to the schedule recommended by the National Immunization Program of the Ministry of Health. The target audience for the updated COVID-19 vaccine includes all people aged 12 and older.

To get vaccinated at the stations, those interested must present an identification document and, if possible, their vaccination card.

The partnership between SMS and MetrôRio has already resulted in more than 21 doses administered in the last two years.
