Marquês de Sapucaí will have medical stations for technical rehearsals at samba schools

The Municipal Health Department will provide medical stations to assist members of the samba schools that will participate in the technical rehearsals at Marquês de Sapucaí, which begin this Saturday (12/3). The units, which will operate from 17 pm to 1 am, will be prepared to respond to emergencies that may occur during the rehearsals.

On the nights of March 12, 13, 19, 20, 26 and 27 and April 2, 3 and 9, there will be three stations with a total of 18 beds, located in the concentration area, in sector 8 and in Praça da Apoteose. The health team will be made up of 13 doctors, six nurses and 11 nursing technicians, in addition to support staff. Four advanced ambulances (mobile ICU) will be available to transfer patients with more serious conditions and who require procedures that can only be performed in a hospital setting.

On the evening of April 10, when the sound and light tests of the Sambadrome will take place and the rehearsal of the 2020 carnival champion, Unidos do Viradouro, will gather the largest number of participants and public, there will be six health centers, with a total of 29 beds. The units will be located in the concentration area, in sectors 2, 7, 8 and 11 and in Apoteose. There will be 22 doctors, 12 nurses, 20 nursing technicians and also 13 advanced ambulances available for cases that require transfer.
