The Silas de Oliveira Knowledge Ship, in Madureira Park, will have a vaccination post - Disclosure

The Naves do Conhecimento summer camps will have recreation and immunization this July. The action will be carried out this Wednesday (26/7) and Thursday (27/7) in a partnership between the Municipal Health Department (SMS) and the Municipal Department of Science and Technology (SMCT). Nine units in the municipality will have vaccination posts (PV).

The partnership between SMS and SMCT is another strategic action to take vaccines to places with high traffic of people and to achieve even greater vaccination coverage, this time thinking about school holidays and young people. Children and adolescents who will participate in the summer camps at Naves do Conhecimento will be able to update their vaccination schedule. There will be 18 routine vaccines offered at the PVs during these two days. The booster dose against COVID-19 with the bivalent vaccine and the Influenza vaccine will also be available, including for adults who accompany the children during the action.

The guidance is that parents and guardians bring an identification document and the child or adolescent's vaccination record, so that the vaccination schedule can be assessed by health professionals and updated, if necessary.

– The Rio de Janeiro City Hall is making a huge effort to restore the population’s vaccination coverage. We don’t want any Rio resident to be left unprotected. In this action, in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology, we will take the vaccines from the child and adolescent calendar to the Naves do Conhecimento, as well as the flu vaccine and the bivalent COVID-19 vaccine – said the municipal health secretary, Daniel Soranz.

– This action in partnership with the Health Department is essential. The Naves are also spaces that promote actions with the objective of providing public service and helping the population. Getting vaccinated is an act of citizenship and collective responsibility. With the advances achieved by science, we cannot let health take a back seat – emphasized the Secretary of Science and Technology, Tatiana Roque.

Vaccines are also available at the city's 237 Primary Care units, for all ages, from Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 17 pm; and at the Super Carioca Vaccination Center, from Sunday to Sunday, from 8 am to 22 pm.
