Medical center in Sapucaí - Archive / Rio City Hall The Municipal Health Department (SMS-Rio) will have a special emergency medical assistance plan during the 2022 Carnival parades, on Marquês de Sapucaí. Seven medical stations will be set up along the Avenue, at strategic points. The medical stations will be in sectors 1 (concentration), 2, 7, 8, 10 (Rua Salvador de Sá), 11 and Apoteose (dispersal) and will operate from 19 pm until the end of the parades. On the day of the children's schools presentation (24/04), the stations will operate from 16 pm to midnight. The care structure will have 32 beds, eight of which will be for advanced support. On each day, there will be 71 professionals, including 26 doctors, 18 nurses and 27 nursing technicians on duty to assist school members, the public or workers who need it.
For patients with more serious conditions, there will be ambulances with advanced support (mobile ICU) to make the transfer, coordinated by the Municipal Regulatory Center, to hospitals or UPAs in the network. There will be 16 ambulances on standby on the days of the Série Ouro and Grupo Especial schools parade and on the Saturday of the champions. For the children's parade, there will be ten vehicles available.
The SMS will also provide healthcare services during the counting of votes at Apoteose (26/04), with a health center operating from 14 pm to 20 pm, with a team of three doctors, two nurses and three nursing technicians. Two ambulances with advanced support will be available to transfer patients with more serious cases. Among the main reasons that lead partygoers to seek care are discomfort due to the heat or excessive alcohol consumption, hypertension, sprains/strains, cuts and various traumas.
