RioFilme opens registrations for the biggest public notice in its history
Published on 02/05/2022 - 15:31 | UpdatedRegistration for the 2 Rio de Janeiro Audiovisual Promotion notices opened this Monday (5/2022). Interested parties can register until May 29th in the notices area of the website. RioFilme. The 2022 Rio de Janeiro Audiovisual Development Program was launched on March 30 and represents the largest investment in audiovisual in the city's history, managed by RioFilme, an agency linked to the Secretariat of Government and Public Integrity (Segovi). In total, R$55,250 million will be invested in the sector through the public notices, which means an investment 176% higher than the lines of action proposed in 2021.
Among the new lines in the development program, which are now open for applications, the following stand out: investment in the production of films and documentary series for cinema, TV and streaming; investment in the production of new seasons of web series; and distribution of films to movie theaters in partnership with Brazilian distributors, among other new features.
Two of the announced lines are still under Public Consultation until May 15th because they required more time to be prepared by RioFilme: the Cash Rebate notices worth R$15 million, focused on attracting investments to the city, and Support for the Participation of Rio de Janeiro Producers in International Festivals.
Also among the new features, the program will soon launch a call for proposals for Investment in Professional Training, an important demand in the sector. The main focus will be to promote the inclusion of young people in the job market and fill gaps that create obstacles to market growth. The action will be carried out through partnerships with educational institutions. The line of investment in Support for Training and Inclusion of new professionals in the audiovisual sector will have R$900 thousand in resources.
All calls for proposals that are already eligible for registration underwent public consultation between March 30 and April 24, 2022, so that the sector could make contributions with suggestions, which were later considered by RioFilme's Investment Board. All calls for proposals are available in full on the RF website.
