Escola Carioca de Turismo opens 705 places in free courses that will train workers for the sector

The Rio de Janeiro City Hall's Escola Carioca de Turismo (Carioca School of Tourism) has launched the second phase of training courses aimed at qualifying the sector's workforce. There are 705 vacancies for classes in foreign languages, basic sign language, cultural tourism, hotel reception, etiquette, ceremonial and event planning, among other areas. The first class, in basic Spanish applied to services in this segment, starts on Saturday (06/05). The project, by the Municipal Department of Tourism, in partnership with Senac, aims to train 3.800 people by the end of this year.

Courses with open registration are in http://turismo.prefeitura.rio/escolacariocadeturismo/. The in-person classes are held at six Senac units: Barra da Tijuca, Botafogo, Campo Grande, Copacabana, Madureira and Riachuelo. Those who complete the training will receive a diploma.

Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and have completed high school. Applications must be submitted online, and interested parties must submit a copy of their ID and proof of residence and education. Places are filled in the order in which the form is submitted, and any excess will be placed on a waiting list. There are opportunities in all three shifts.
