The Rio de Janeiro School of Tourism offers free courses to qualify guides

Taking pictures with a cell phone is one of the six subjects on the course - Marcos de Paula/City of Rio The Rio de Janeiro School of Tourism is approaching its fourth edition, offering free courses, this time exclusively for tour guides. Classes begin this Tuesday (October 21st) for the first of ten groups of 20 students in the initiative, a partnership between the Municipal Department of Tourism (SMTUR-RIO) and Senac RJ.
The course consists of six disciplines: Hospitality Service (8h); Social Media Strategies (8h); Taking Photos with a Cell Phone (12h); First Steps to Entrepreneurship (12h); Next Steps to Entrepreneurship: Structuring and Management (12h); and First Aid Basics (8h). Interested guides must be registered with Cadastur – the Ministry of Tourism's Registry of Tourism Service Providers – and live in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
Classes will be held at Senac's campuses in Centro (Santa Luzia) and Copacabana. The second class is also already closed and will begin on the 27th. Registration for the next classes must be completed here.
The Carioca School of Tourism began in 2022 and has since certified 2.143 students in various disciplines aimed at professional training and qualification in the sector, such as languages, event planning, hotel reception and ceremonial, among others.
