Parque Radical de Deodoro offers free zumba classes
Published on 09/10/2020 - 13:07 | Updated on 25/05/2021 - 12:10The Rio City Hall, through the Special Secretariat for Tourism and Olympic Legacy, informs that the Deodoro Radical Park, starting next Tuesday, October 13th, will offer free Zumba classes. There will be two sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10 am to 8 am and from 9 am to 9 am. Registration must be done at the Radical Park administration, and interested parties must be over 10 years old.
– Zumba has become a very popular exercise in Brazil because it combines two of the country’s passions: dance and physical activity. Having these classes at the Deodoro Radical Park, following the Golden Rules of the City of Rio, is an important step towards a healthier life for residents of the West Zone – said the Special Secretary of Tourism and Olympic Legacy, Camila Sousa.
Created in Colombia in the 1990s, Zumba is a dance that combines several Latin genres, such as samba, mambo and rumba. In recent years, gyms have recognized its value as an exercise and have started offering classes as a way to have fun while the group burns calories and maintains cardiovascular health.
Classes usually last an hour, but participants always comment that time passes more quickly during the activity.
