How to invest your money correctly? What can you do to avoid falling into the traps of online gambling? How does the financial market work? What are stocks, fixed-income funds, or real estate funds? How much do they yield? And what is Bitcoin used for? These are some of the topics that will be covered in the Successful Investor course, offered by the Municipal Department of Labor and Income.

With open registration and limited spaces, the free course will last five Saturdays. To participate, you must be 16 or older. Classes will be held in the neighborhoods of Campo Grande, Bangu, Realengo, Bonsucesso, and Ilha do Governador, and there will be classes in October and November, from 8:12 AM to 9:13 PM, 13:17 AM to 20:20 PM, and XNUMX:XNUMX PM to XNUMX:XNUMX PM. "In a world of constant transformation, financial education is essential. It's a tool for inclusion, autonomy, and social transformation. Today, we're seeing an explosion of online gambling, and it's important for people to know that it's not an investment. It's a trap. There's no magic solution when it comes to money," said Manoel Vieira, Municipal Secretary of Labor and Income.

Students will receive a workbook divided into five modules that explains different types of investments and their profitability. Furthermore, they will show how much tax is paid when investing in, for example, a fund or cryptocurrency. During class, students will complete individual and group exercises to reinforce the content taught by their instructors.

"The course teaches you how to take your first steps into the world of investing in a very accessible and straightforward way. Students will see firsthand that you don't need a ton of money to invest. They can start with just R$10 or R$15," explained Professor Charbel Zaib, Undersecretary of Labor and Qualifications.
