March begins with 1.558 job openings in Rio

In the midst of Carnival, Rio City Hall released this Monday (03/03), through the Municipal Department of Labor and Income (SMTE), the list of 1.558 job openings in the city. Of these, 247 are for people with disabilities. For those who want to work in customer service or telephone sales, for example, there are 730 opportunities in neighborhoods such as Cidade Nova, Taquara, Jacarepaguá and Del Castilho.

In addition to these vacancies, other opportunities are spread throughout various neighborhoods in the city. In Tijuca, for example, there are three vacancies for sushi chefs, with a salary of R$2.014. To apply, you must have completed high school and at least six months of experience.

Also on the list are 70 vacancies for merchandise replenisher, 65 for cashier, 43 for drivers, 31 for different types of inspector (cashier, customer service and loss prevention), 30 for loading assistant, 15 for fleet electrician, 2 for tiler and one for IT assistant, among many others.

– “According to data from Booking, Rio is the second most sought-after city in the world during Carnival, behind only Dubai. During this period, the city is expected to generate R$5,7 billion in economic activity, according to estimates from the City Hall. And, with the major events that Mayor Eduardo Paes is promoting, Rio will create even more opportunities for the people of Rio,” says the Municipal Secretary of Labor and Income, Manoel Vieira.

The Municipal Department of Labor and Income receives the list of vacancies from companies, which define the requirements needed for hiring. According to the vacancy profile, the SMTE applies filters to select people who meet all the criteria and forwards them to the companies. There are three types of selection processes: resumes (when the company requests the resume for analysis), link (when the company provides the platform link for the candidate to fill out), and in-person interview (when the company schedules a day and time for the in-person interview).
