Job market in Rio: 1,4 opportunities are open

Of the 1.419 job openings in Rio de Janeiro, 648 are for telemarketing operators in Jacarepaguá and Del Castilho. This Monday (17/02), the City Hall, through the Municipal Department of Labor and Income (SMTE), released the list of these and other opportunities in several neighborhoods of the city.

For those who want to work in the gastronomy sector, for example, there are 60 vacancies for cooks and kitchen assistants. And there are also three vacancies for sous chefs, with salaries that can reach R$3. However, in this case, the candidate must have completed high school.

In the general list of open positions, there are 40 for baker's assistant; 30 for loading and unloading assistant; 30 for waiter; 30 for cumin; 20 for marketing analyst; 16 for stockist; 12 for collection assistant; among many others.

– In January 2024, 833 vacancies were created. In the same month this year, this number jumped to 1.457 vacancies. In other words, in January of this year there was an increase in vacancies created of 74,91% compared to the same period last year – says the municipal secretary of Labor and Income, Manoel Vieira.

For young people, there are internship opportunities for those studying Computer Technician (12); Accounting Sciences (6); Administration (4); Computer Science (4); Marketing (3); Information Technology (3); Nutrition (2); Nursing (2); Letters/Portuguese/English (2); Electronics Technician (1); Human Resources Management (1); Physiotherapy (1); Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry (1); Advertising (1) and Law (1).

Of the vacancies, there are 294 for people with disabilities. Among them, 50 for snack bar attendants; 43 for store attendants; 38 for administrative assistants; 20 for store attendants; 5 for registration agents; among many other opportunities.

Important: The Municipal Department of Labor and Income receives the list of vacancies from companies, and they define the requirements needed for hiring. According to the vacancy profile, the SMTE applies the necessary filters to select people who meet all the criteria and forwards them to the companies.

There are three types of selection processes: resumes (when the partner company requests the person's resume to analyze and then contact them); link (when the partner company provides the link to the platform where its vacancy is registered for the person to fill out and apply for the vacancy); and face-to-face interview (when the partner company schedules a date and time for the interview).
