City Hall opens Entrepreneurs' Room at São Cristóvão Fair this Wednesday 

The São Cristóvão Fair, a temple of northeastern traditions, will gain an Entrepreneurs' Room. The City of Rio, through the Municipal Department of Labor and Income (SMTE), in partnership with Sebrae-RJ, will inaugurate, this Wednesday (25/6), the new service space for the city's entrepreneurs. In addition to being able to open and close MEIs, it will be possible to issue DAS, make changes to registrations and pay off debts in installments, among other services. All free of charge. But important: it will be necessary to schedule an appointment in advance to use the SMTE services in the new Entrepreneurs' Room. The room is open from Tuesday to Friday, from 10 am to 17 pm.

– The São Cristóvão Fair receives more than 400 visitors per month and employs more than 1.500 direct and indirect workers. With the new Entrepreneurs’ Room, the City Hall is taking another step towards strengthening entrepreneurship in Rio and valuing this intangible heritage that is one of the greatest symbols of northeastern culture in Rio. In the Entrepreneurs’ Room, an initiative by the City Hall in partnership with Sebrae-RJ, taxpayers will be able to create their MEI, negotiate and pay off debts, ask questions about their business and receive free courses to improve their skills – explained the Municipal Secretary of Labor and Income, Manoel Vieira.

In addition to São Cristóvão, there are four other Entrepreneurs' Rooms operating in the city. Two are in downtown Rio, one in Santa Cruz, in the West Zone, and one on Ilha do Governador, in the North Zone. On May 16 and 21, rooms were opened at CIAD (Avenida Presidente Vargas, 1.997) and at UDES (Praça da República, 139, Campo de Santana). And on May 28, it was the turn of the Santa Cruz Workers' Center (Rua Lopes Moura, 58) to gain a unit. The Entrepreneurs' Room on Ilha do Governador, also in operation, is located at Estrada do Dendê, 2.080.
