Rio has 1.073 job openings, 133 of which are for people with disabilities

Referrals of professionals to partner companies increased by 478% in the first quarter of 2025 - Roberto Moreyra/SMTE Rio ends March with 1.073 job openings, 133 of which are exclusively for people with disabilities. On Monday (31/3), the City of Rio, through the Municipal Department of Labor and Income (SMTE), released a list of opportunities in different neighborhoods of the city. And there is good news for those who want to work as a cook: opportunities are being offered with salaries ranging from R$1.800,00 to R$5.500,00. However, you must have completed elementary school and six months of experience. This week, there are also 17 job openings for nannies, with salaries ranging from R$1.600 to R$5. – The number of referrals from our Trabalha Rio program for job openings in partner companies has grown dramatically, comparing the first quarter of 2024 and 2025. While in the first three months of 2024, 77 referrals were registered, in the same period of 2025 this number jumped to 445, representing an increase of 478% – celebrated the municipal secretary of Labor and Income, Manoel Vieira.
The list also includes 206 vacancies for telemarketing/teleservice operators; 70 for merchandise replenishment; 65 for cashiers; 35 for sales operators, among many others. For those looking for an internship, there are vacancies for those studying Administration (8); Letters/Portuguese/English (5); Pedagogy (4); Marketing (2); Computer Science (2); Accounting (2); Occupational Safety Technician (2); Architecture (1); Tourism (1); Communication (1); Advertising (1); Law (1); Nutrition (1); Chemistry Technician (1); Electronics Technician (1) and Information Technology (1).
Important: The Municipal Department of Labor and Income receives the list of vacancies from companies with the necessary requirements for hiring defined by the companies. According to the vacancy profile, the SMTE applies the necessary filters to select the people who meet all the criteria and forwards them to the companies.
There are three types of selection processes: resumes (when the partner company requests the person's resume to analyze, and then make contact with them); link (when the partner company provides the link to the platform on which its vacancy is registered for the person to fill out and apply for the vacancy); and in-person interview (when the partner company schedules a date and time for the in-person interview with the candidate).
Registering CVs online or at Employment Centers
Workers who wish to register their CV in the SMTE job vacancy database can access it via Internet.
People without internet access can register in person at one of the seven Workers' Centers, at the following addresses: Centro (Av. Presidente Vargas, 1.997, at CIAD); Campo Grande (Rua Coxilha, s/nº); Engenho Novo (Rua Vinte Quatro de Maio, 931); Ilha do Governador (Estrada do Dendê, 2.080); Jacarepaguá (Av. Geremário Dantas, 1.400, rooms 247 and 248); Santa Cruz (Rua Lopes de Moura, 58); and Tijuca (Rua Camaragibe, 25). The centers are open from Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 16 pm.
Candidates must bring their ID, CPF, PIS and resume to register. People with disabilities can send their resume to the email vagaspcd.smte@gmail.com or go to the Center for Care for People with Disabilities (CIAD), a reference in the search and offer of employment opportunities for people with disabilities in the city, in the Center (Av. Presidente Vargas, 1.997).
