Trabalha Rio: more than a hundred vacancies for Carioca Apprentices

If you are between 14 and 24 years old and want to apply for a Carioca Apprentice position, just go to one of the Trabalha Rio events that will be held this Tuesday (March 11) in four neighborhoods of the city. The Municipal Department of Labor and Income (SMTE), in partnership with Mobi-Rio, is offering 3 openings for young people. Registration will be open from 136 am to 10 pm, at Rua da Cítara, 12, in Realengo; from 138 am to 10 pm, at Rua Arquimedes Memória, no number, in Vila da Penha; from 15 pm to 13 pm, at Rua Bom Sossego, 15, Padre Miguel; and from 230 am to 10 pm, at Rua Coxilha, no number, in Campo Grande.

– The Aprendiz Carioca program has been changing the reality of hundreds of young people from communities in Rio. Last month, we signed a document with the National Apprenticeship Network (Renapsi), Espro and Camp Mangueira to renew the program. We also gave 400 apprentices kits with backpacks and t-shirts. Now, in this partnership with Mobi-Rio, we will provide new opportunities for those who dream of entering the job market – explained Rio’s Secretary of Labor and Income, Manoel Vieira.

Implemented by SMTE in partnership with companies and the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Aprendiz Carioca allows young people to work in different departments of the City Hall and take a professional training course to become an administrative assistant. To participate, you must be enrolled in a public school or have already completed high school and be registered in the Single Registry. The contract is for two years, with a work record, a 20-hour work week and transportation assistance.

– We are already seeking new partnerships with the Rio City Hall to expand the number of vacancies for Carioca Apprentices. With the resume database we are creating, we will have no difficulty filling the vacancies that arise – said the Deputy Secretary of Labor and Qualifications of SMTE, Charbel Zaib.

According to Walter Vieira de Jesus, technical and financial coordinator at Mobi-Rio, young people will be able to choose between the courses of transport operations assistant; vehicle electrical assistant; automotive vehicle mechanic and to work in the administrative sector.
