The guide brings together guidelines and best practices for the safe and ethical use of AI tools in municipal public service.

On National Personal Data Protection Day, celebrated on July 17th, the Rio de Janeiro City Hall, through the Municipal Secretariat of Integrity and Transparency (SMIT), published a resolution establishing the Guidance Guide for the Ethical Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Municipal Public Service, within the scope of the Carioca Program for the Promotion of Public Integrity. The objective of the regulation is to guide public servants on the use of artificial intelligence in their activities. The guide brings together guidelines and best practices for the safe and ethical use of AI tools in the municipal public service.

The guide is intended to provide guidance and encourages the use of AI as a tool for innovation and improvement of public services, always in accordance with the principles of public administration and personal data protection legislation. It also presents recommendations for the prevention and mitigation of risks related to the use of these technologies.

In addition to regulating provisions of the Rio de Janeiro Program for the Promotion of Public Integrity, the resolution reinforces the City Hall's commitment to the protection of personal data and privacy, as well as the promotion of good practices in the use of these new technologies, aligned with the Municipal Data Protection Policy and the Public Agent Integrity Code.
