- Jaé reaches around one million daily shipments, and Zona Sul gains its first Super Posto
The Rio Planetarium - Disclosure Jaé, Rio's new digital ticketing system, reached the milestone of approximately one million trips completed in a single day on Tuesday (July 8), representing almost 7% of all trips made on municipal transport. And to better serve Rio residents who have adopted the new ticketing system, Rio City Hall will open the first Super Posto in the South Zone, at the Gávea Planetarium, on Friday (July 37), which will also be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
"Despite specific issues at certain service points, the overall results have been positive, and we are grateful to the people of Rio who understood the importance of Jaé and supported it. Therefore, we are doing everything we can to provide maximum comfort to users during this transition and will open the first Super Posto in the South Zone," said Rio's deputy mayor, Eduardo Cavaliere.
The milestone reached on Tuesday represented a 61% increase in trips in Jaé compared to the last business day.
Jaé's exclusive operation for boarding passengers entitled to free municipal public transportation began last weekend. With the City Hall's new digital ticketing system, real-time monitoring of passenger boarding is now possible, allowing for greater accuracy in analyzing passenger flow.
The Jaé system continues to register significant growth. As of Tuesday, the total number of general registrations reached 2.843.248, with 171.964 in July alone.
The City Hall will continue to monitor data in real time to ensure the system is fully functioning and to provide quality service to beneficiary users.
Starting August 2nd, use of Jaé will be mandatory for all municipal transportation users, including those using transportation vouchers. Employers should contact the Jaé operator as soon as possible to activate the benefit for their employees and ensure access to the system.
It's worth noting that you can register with Jaé through the app, use the digital card on your phone, or request home delivery, avoiding the need to go to service centers. Delivery is free for seniors.
With the opening of the Planetarium Super Station, Rio City Hall now has five expanded service units for Jaé. The remaining facilities are located at the Server Club in Cidade Nova; the Knowledge Center in Engenho de Dentro; Miécimo da Silva in Campo Grande; and the Olympic Village in Deodoro.
"We remind you that the app is the most convenient way for users to request their card. It's easy to use, and the card can be delivered to your home, without the need to go to a branch," emphasized Transportation Secretary Maína Celidonio.
