With the new integration, the user pays for just one ticket and can take three forms of transport - Rio City Hall

Users of the BRT system have been celebrating nothing but good news in recent months. They now have access to more modern and efficient buses, the already famous yellow ones; they have gained more comfort and safety with the renovation of the stations; they have seen the inauguration of the Transbrasil corridor, which has significantly reduced travel time between the Deodoro Terminal and the Gentileza Intermodal Terminal, along Avenida Brasil; and they have also started to save money on travel around the city, when they gained the right to make up to three trips for the price of a single ticket (R$4,30) by using the Bilhete Único Carioca (BUC).

With the new integration, BRT passengers can make two additional trips on any of the other modes of transport regulated by the City Hall that operate with validators for the Bilhete Único Carioca (BUC), such as conventional buses, vans and VLT. For example, they can use a conventional bus + BRT + VLT. Or, BRT + conventional bus + conventional bus. The order does not matter, the only requirement is that BRT is one of the modes used on the route.

The period for making the integrations is three hours from the moment the passenger uses the card on the first validator. Before this new feature, it was only possible to make two trips for the price of one ticket, according to the BUC interaction rules.

Requalification of the BRT System

The City Hall purchased 713 new buses for the requalification of the BRT System. The Transbrasil, Transolímpica, Transcarioca and Transoeste corridors are already operating 100% with new buses.
