The Rio City Hall, through the Municipal Department of Transportation, is continuing to review and update the regulations for municipal transportation modes, which had not been done for over 7 years. This is the case of the Disciplinary Code for vans and cabritinhos, which will now be reviewed by a technical group from the SMTR created this week and published in the Official Gazette.

The goal is to examine and adapt articles, review fine amounts, and reorganize the text of the regulation so that it is easy to understand. And, above all, to make the Disciplinary Code more educational, and not just punitive, resulting in quality services for users.

– We seek to meet the demands of the classes working in the different modes of municipal transport, as well as to meet a long-standing need to update these regulations, aiming to serve the population in the best possible way. It was high time to give special attention to this issue – highlighted Paulo Jobim, municipal secretary of Transport.

During the work, technicians will listen to operators of the modes, in order to evaluate their demands and arrive at a regulation that is respected by drivers and easy to monitor for the secretariat, with clear and applicable duties and sanctions, so that passengers are transported with peace of mind and safety.

The same is being done with other modes of transport, such as buses and taxis.

– The channel will always be open to all operators. We want to hear their concerns and suggestions so that everyone is satisfied when providing and using the services on the city streets – concluded the Undersecretary of Transportation, Allan Borges.
