The Rio City Hall has prepared a special operation for the public transport system during the 2022 Carnival parades. The recommendation is that the population plan their trips in advance due to the closures that will occur around the Sambadrome, in the Center, and Estrada Intendente Magalhães, in the North Zone.

Bus routes that pass through closed areas will undergo changes. The subway and Supervia will operate during the early hours of the morning, and taxis will have pick-up points around the Sambadrome.

See below how the modes should operate on parade days:

BUS / SAMBODROME

Similar to previous years, all bus lines from the North and West Zones to the Center and South Zones will detour via Rio Comprido. Lines from the South Zone will run along the side lane of Avenida Presidente Vargas, towards Praça da Bandeira.
