Rio City Hall asks the population to maintain social distancing rules

The Rio de Janeiro City Hall, through the Health Surveillance Sub-Secretariat of the Municipal Health Department, reinforces the request for the population to avoid crowds, wear masks and follow social distancing rules. With the October 12 holiday approaching, the Health Surveillance Education Superintendent, Flávio Graça, highlights the role of each citizen in reducing the risk of COVID-19 infection. Everyone must be responsible for their own health and care for the health of others.

Graça explains that 30 days after the start of Phase 6B, in effect since October 1, an assessment will be made by the scientific committee. The municipality may move to the conservative period, when there will still be restrictive measures and monitoring, but with the phases of resumption of activities already concluded.

– During this period of recovery, we have gradually and responsibly resumed economic activities, with protocols and safety rules. It is very important for the population to understand that the recovery is not a sign that things have returned to normal. This is not possible at the moment. It is very important for people to continue to assume their responsibility and have a sense of empathy, to put themselves in the other person’s shoes, always concerned about others, in order to prevent themselves from contracting the disease and not transmitting it – warns Flávio Graça.
